Unprofessional Pyramids striker Fiston Mayele is the centre of attention on Twitter after Mamelodi Sundowns beat them and mentor Rulani Mokwena responds and slams the hitman.

Mokwena was unimpressed by Mayele’s post on social media after the draw last week, saying they will beat Sundowns in Cairo.

Mayele issued his warning after he was denied a Visa by the South African government and Mokwena says football is not played on Twitter – now known as X.

In the second leg match of the CAF Champions League in Cairo on Tuesday, Sundowns bottled Mayele and he failed to score – Mokwena responds.

The 36-year-old Sundowns mentor responds, saying they are a club that holds itself in high regard and cannot even entertain Mayele’s social media posts.

RULANI RESPONDS AND SLAMS UNPROFESSIONAL MAYELE’S TWITTER RANT

The Congolese forward, Mayele believes the DStv Premiership champions influenced the decision to deny him the visa.

“The Fiston Mayele story I don’t want to get into because I didn’t even talk about it in my prematch with the players,” says Mokwena.

“I didn’t even mention it, so for me, football is played on the pitch, we don’t play football on Twitter. We are a club that holds itself in high regard.”

At the same time, there were posts after the match suggesting that Sundowns goalscorer, Teboho Mokoena took a jab at Mayele.

In addition, the current AFL title holder, Mokwena states that Sundowns always try to win the game fair and square.

“We try to win and win the right way. And work very hard for everything we receive,” adds Mokwena.

“For him to make those allegations, for me, is unfair, but also unjust, because he’s got no validity and it is extremely disrespectful to a football club like ours, which prides itself on ethics, humility, and respect, but also on fair play.” 

The Brazilians will now return home to prepare for their next league match against Cape Town City on Sunday, December 24.
