The Multiparty Charter (MPC), which consists of eight opposition political parties that signed a power-sharing arrangement, has unveiled its economic recovery and job creation plan at a press conference held at the Durban harbor on Wednesday.

The MPC says it aims to remove any barriers that might deter foreign or local investors because they (investors) play a crucial role in fostering economic growth and job creation. The coalition is banking on this plan to win over voters in the upcoming national and provincial elections.

MPC TARGET TO UNSEAT ANC AND KEEP EFF OUT OF POWER

The parties, which include the Democratic Alliance, Inkatha Freedom Party, Freedom Front+, and ActionSA, amongst others, are aiming to bring in enough votes and parliamentary seats to unseat the African National Congress (ANC) and keep the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) out of power.

“The ANC’s mismanagement of our economy is not only reflected in our unemployment, which stands at 41.2% but also in the pain South African households experience with the ever-rising cost of living,” said ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba, who presented the plan on behalf of the parties, reported Timeslive.

EACH PARTY WILL CAMPAIGN INDIVIDUALLY FOR ELECTIONS SAYS MASHABA

Mashaba said even though the political parties have shared principles, each party will campaign individually ahead of the 2024 elections.
