Maumela Mahuwa (born March 16, 1980) is a South African actress. She is best known for playing Susan in the SABC2 soap opera Muvhango.
The actress stayed in the village until Duma Ndolvu discovered her. She is among the few actresses that appeared in Muvhango since the show started in 1997.Â

Maumela Mahuwa was born on March 16, 1980, in Gogobole Sinthumule, Limpopo, South Africa. She grew up with her grandmother and her aunt in the village. Her mother wasn’t always around.
Mahuwa stayed in the village until Duma Ndlovu discovered her, and she moved to Johannesburg. She also sings and dreams of being a singer like Rebecca Malope, but acting is her first love.
Education
Maumela Mahuwa completed her high school studies and sat for matric before venturing into acting. She did not attend any formal acting school.
The actress runs a film school in Maboneng, Johannesburg. It became operational in 2019 and offers courses in filmmaking.
Career
Maumela Mahuwa started acting after Duma Ka-Ndlovu encouraged her to. She entered the talent hunt when the Lion King filmmaking crew came to Limpopo to conduct auditions.
Duma Ndlovu asked her to give him a call and gave her his phone number during the audition. She made the call, and with Duma’s connection, she landed the role in Muvhango.
Muvhango has been broadcasting since 1997, and Maumela joined the same year. She has made over 18 years of appearances in the series. Other individuals who appeared from the beginning are Murabeli Rasalanavho and Sindi Dlathu.

Maumela Mahuwa plays Susan Mukwevho in the soap opera Muvhango. Her character is the supportive and respectful wife of Chief Azwindini.
