The South African Weather Service (SAWS) says a heatwave with persistently high temperatures is expected in parts of the Eastern Cape until Sunday, 4 February.
HEATWAVE CONDITIONS IN PARTS OF THE EASTERN CAPE
In an advisory, the weather service said a heatwave with persistently high temperatures is expected in places over Sarah Baartman and the Chris Hani Districts, as well as over the Raymond Mhlaba and Amahlathi Local Municipalities in the Eastern Cape until Sunday.

UNCOMFORTABLE HOT WEATHER PERSISTS
Meanwhile, extremely hot, uncomfortable and humid conditions are expected in places over the Western Cape until Friday, 2 February.
Earlier this week, the weather service issued an advisory cautioning residents about extremely hot and uncomfortable weather conditions expected in parts of the Western Cape and Northern Cape.
The weather service said day- time temperatures are expected to reach the high 30s and low 40s.
