The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) maintains its five seats in the mayoral committee, while the ANC currently holds four.
The newly elected Ekurhuleni Mayor, Doctor Nkosidiphile Xhakaza, has announced his new 10-member mayoral Cabinet.
Former Ekurhuleni Mayor Sivuyile Ngodwana has now been appointed as the MMC for Corporate and Shared Services.
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has kept its majority positions, with Nkululeko Dinga staying as the Finance MMC in Ekurhuleni City.
According to IOL, under the new leadership, the ANC now holds a total of four MMC seats, retaining its five seats. The ANC’s Masele Madihlaba, formerly the Human Settlements MMC, did not secure a spot in the cabinet.
Ekurhuleni is a metropolitan led by the ANC and EFF. Speaking to the media, Xhakaza emphasised that there would be changes under his leadership, expressing his intention to monitor the performance of his cabinet members closely.
He stated that the mayoral committee was dedicated to transparency, innovation, efficiency, and ethical leadership for the people.
“The members have been selected based on their experience, expertise, and commitment to serve the residents of Ekurhuleni,” he said.
He added that the committee would be in order until the end of the current political term.

7. MMC for Roads and Transport Planning – Andile Mngwevu
8. MMC for Energy – Mzayifani Ngwenya
9. MMC for Human Settlements – Kgopelo Hollo
10. MMC for Corporate and Shared Services – Sivuyile Ngodwana

Nkosindiphile Xhakaza, the newly elected Ekurhuleni Mayor, is gearing up to unveil his 10-member mayoral committee (MMC) on Monday.
This follows the recent election of the African National Congress (ANC) councillor, who took over from Sivuyile Ngodwana, the former mayor, after just a year in office.
Xhakaza was elected unopposed. His mayoral Cabinet will shed light on the horse trading his party did to get him to the position.
According to Eyewitness News, the EFF and ANC have somewhat shaky but still stable coalitions governing the eThekwini and Johannesburg metros.

Meanwhile, the EFF accused the ANC of being bitter as it was being outshined by their councillors.
In Ngodwana’s reign, the ANC and EFF had five MMC seats each, with EFF Councillor Nkululeko Dunga assuming the all-important position of MMC for Finance.
