South Africa fell 4 positions on the Global Corruption Perceptions Index, now ranked 83/180 countries, down from 79th last year.
SA ranked 11th in Sub-Sharan Africa.
One of the many criticisms was the lack of action taken on the findings of the Zondo Commission and that indifference regarding the perpetrators of the July 2021 riots.
