Airlink will reintroduce its seasonal “bush & beach” route in July this year.
The route connects Vilanculos (in Mozambique) to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (Mbombela) and Johannesburg.

AIRLINK ROUTE
The seasonal route will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays from 1 July 2024.
These flights will continue until 5 January 2025. They will be operated by Airlink’s Embraer Regional Jets.
This new seasonal service will supplement Airlink’s year-round daily direct Johannesburg – Vilanculos service.

BUSH AND BEACH CONNECTION
The resumed route connects three important African destinations in a tourist’s itinerary. Airlink’s route will link Vilanculos to Mbombela and Johannesburg.
Mbombela is the gateway to the world-famous Kruger National Park. It is conveniently located near private game lodges, and spectacular sites such as God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck, the Three Rondavels and various scenic waterfalls.
Vilanculos is a popular beach holiday destination and gateway to the Bazaruto Archipelago. It is renowned for its idyllic beaches, marine life, restaurants, various accommodation options, markets for fresh produce, and arts and crafts.

TOURISM OFFERING
Southern Africa is beginning to see the return of international tourism flows.
This follows years of sluggish tourist arrivals brought on by travel restrictions implemented during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Airlink’s restarted service is set to benefit the tourism sector since it opens up opportunities for tourists who wish to experience Africa’s wildlife and pristine beaches.
