According to the party, the school experienced a suspected arson attack last night, Tuesday, 16 January, which destroyed a significant part of its infrastructure.
The school library and part of the admin block where textbooks and stationery were being stored are among the affected buildings.
“We are calling on the police to work together with the community of Phoenix, and conduct a swift and thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind this fire,” the party said.
ACTIONSA WANTS THE ARSONIST TO BE BROUGHT TO BOOK
The party conducted an oversight today, Thursday, 18 January, led by the party’s provincial head Zwakele Mncwango.
“ActionSA assessed Phoenix Secondary School after the school caught fire last night. It is really sad that someone can decide to petrol bomb the school a night before the official opening. I have engaged with the Police Commissioner to get a special team to investigate this,” he reacted on X.
