Unit 2 generated power during Unit 1’s outage and will continue until its own outage, involving the replacement of three steam generators.

Learnings from Unit 1’s outage aim to minimize downtime for Unit 2 while upholding Nuclear Safety standards.

Replacing steam generators is pivotal for extending Koeberg’s operating license, with Eskom seeking a 20-year extension currently under assessment by the National Nuclear Regulator (NNR).
