Kaizer Chiefs are believed to have been one of the two clubs interested in Yanga SC striker Clement Mzize.

The 20-year-old scored 10 goals for the Tanzanian giants across all competitions last season. Amakhosi and Wydad Casablanca are two clubs interested in the Yanga youngster. Mzize previously worked with newly appointed Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi before the Tunisian mentor left last year.

Kaizer Chiefs interested in another Yanga star

Earlier this month, Amakhosi were linked with another Yanga star Stephane Aziz Ki. The midfielder revealed three PSL teams had approached him but opted to stay with the Tanzanian champions.

Yanga SC president Hersi Ally Said mentioned that the club received offers but did not mention Kaizer Chiefs.

“It’s not just Mzize,” he told FARPost. “We’ve received offers for other players, too, but we can’t just keep selling our talent. We want to be competitive in Africa, and to do that, we need to keep our best players,” Said told the publication.

Kaizer Chiefs played Yanga last month in the pre-season Toyota Cup match which saw the East Africans winning 4-0. According to FARPost, Young Africans received a US$450,000 [R7.9 million] offer from an unnamed club for their star Mzize.
